Durham Ice Breakers

I would like to extend the warmest welcome to you and your family as the Durham Icebreakers would like to invite you to try-outs in early April. We have been at the rinks and your hard work and commitment to the game of hockey has not gone unnoticed. We are excited with anticipation as we head closer to kicking off our 7th season of Icebreakers hockey, and look forward to adding the 2001, 98 divisions along with our 00, 99, 97, 95 teams. We pride ourselves in having the ability to make spring/summer hockey a fun experience for all, while we push the players through our weekly practices and tournament games to give 110% which will allow them to bring more skill and confidence to their winter clubs. This season we are looking at competing in 3-4 tournaments as well as trying to ice teams for the North America Challenge Cup in Las Vegas July 3-9, 2010. We look forward to hearing from you soon and hope the Icebreakers will be the team of your choice for the spring/summer of 2010.   Our Mission To train players at the highest level. Maximize each individual's potential through positive communication and physical demonstrations. Bring together players from different club teams to build friendships and conquer barriers. Evaluate knowledge of sport and how to train. Instill a work ethic, how to sacrifice and demonstrate what it takes to reach your maximum potential. Stress the importance of character, behaviour, attitude, self-discipline, fair play and focus on success. Objectives On ice training and preparation to reach their potential and achieve goals set forth at the start of the season. Off-ice training programs that focus on specific exercises through intensity of work. Positive atmosphere, encouragement and fun. Make them believe through self-motivation. Teach skills that develop them as players and people both on and off the ice. $595.00 - 2010 Season Fee Includes: 3-4 AAA tournaments 10 Weekly practices -min 1 1/2 hr (Campus Ice Centre) Practice jersey, game jersey, socks, warm-up jacket Off Ice Apparel (Shirts/shorts & hat) All players will be required to wear a royal blue helmet and black pants. We will have pants and helmets from our sponsors at a discounted rate.
